Using ChatGPT on the Web Without Login

Did you know that we can use ChatGPT without having to log in. I think this is really cool because if I compare it with other AI services such as Claude or Gemini, they don't have this feature, or don't have it at the moment.

How to do it? It's easy, if you are logged in to ChatGPT now, try logging out and try typing, for example:

https://chatgpt.com?q=What is the capital of Indonesia

This is actually similar to Google's style. There is a "q" parameter (short for query I think) for us to write a search phrase, like this https://google.com/search?q=What is the capital of Indonesia

I think this is great, and it is generally designed for convenience and integration purposes. Here's a breakdown of some specific scenarios where this can be useful:

1. Search Engine-Like Functionality

  • The URL query allows users to quickly search for answers, similar to using a search engine, without needing to log in or navigate through an app interface.
  • This can be beneficial for quick queries that don’t require personalized responses or login-based sessions.

2. Embedding in External Applications

  • Developers or businesses might want to embed such a URL in their own applications or websites. This allows users to ask questions directly from a button or link, without navigating away or needing additional login steps.
  • Users or businesses can share direct links with specific queries embedded in them. For example, a helpdesk could send a URL that directs to an answer for a common customer query.
  • This can also be useful in forums, emails, or other communications, where users want to provide instant answers without requiring interaction.

4. Public ChatGPT Usage

  • Public access like this could enable a more lightweight version of the tool for quick, one-off requests, where logging in might not be necessary or desired.

5. Integration with Other Services

  • Chatbots or services can integrate such URLs into their systems for simpler, automated query handling, where they directly input user questions into the URL and fetch responses, providing an external "ChatGPT answer" feature.

However, it’s worth noting that without login, there is no personalization, session management, or access to previous conversations or other advanced features.

Interesting, right? Please try it.
